Futuro Media is seeking a part-time Associate Audio Engineer to join our team with a start date of Feb 18th. This is a remote position, though being based in NYC is a plus. The Associate Audio Engineer will work within our engineering department on assigned projects as needed and report to the Director of Engineering. Qualifications : High level of experience using and troubleshooting ProTools High level of experience with audio equipment (mic placement; in-studio and field recording) Experience with remote recording setups and Riverside Experience working with audio for podcasts or public radio Experience mixing to LUFS standards Experience with iZotope RX Highly organized with a great attention to detail Ability to communicate clearly and precisely with team Experience with Descript a plus Bilingual Spanish / English a plus. Ability to commute to our office in Harlem, NY a plus Tasks : Conduct remote mic checks for guests and hosts, advising on adjusting microphone placement and troubleshoot connection issues. Remote mic checks are done on Riverside, or by connecting with guests at tape sync locations. Offer equipment setup guidance and troubleshooting for audio equipment (field kids, USB mics, Riverside, voice memos, in-person tape sync etc) Mix promos, ads, and bonus content Edit dialogue, fix audible edits, and perform noise reduction. Master audio and ensure quality control for mixed stories. Work with producers to cut stories to public radio broadcast clock timing. Finalize and upload files for delivery (broadcast and podcast release). Research equipment and create purchase lists. Organize and archive audio files. Training sessions with producers on recording and audio workflows best practices.
