VP/C&I Commercial Lender - Job Description
Title: VP/C&I Commercial Lender
Department(s): Commercial Lending - Manassas
Reports to: Executive Director, Commercial Lending
Job Summary
The commercial lender will oversee and implement loans for commercial customers. They will need to ensure that all loans serviced are compliant with relevant laws and regulations. They will also be responsible for developing business prospects for the financial institution.
Essential Job Functions
- Analyzes the credit history of applicants and determines their loan repayment capabilities.
- Negotiates credit terms, such as costs, loan repayment methods and collateral specifications.
- Develops and maintains interest rate structure to be consistent with financial institution policies and procedures, and to be competitive with current market rates.
- Evaluates potential customer loan requests and makes loan recommendations to management.
- Reviews laws and regulations that influence business lending within the financial institution and makes recommendations to management when necessary.
- Develops new customer prospects and business for the financial institution.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial institution or consumer loan department
- Extensive knowledge of C&I Lending
- Extensive knowledge of lending services and related areas
Abilities Required
- Good managerial, communication, and sales skills
- Proven organizational and public relations skill
- Excellent communication, management, analytical and interpersonal skills.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of Underwriting
- Microsoft Office suite proficiency
Essential Functions
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time
- Must be able to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
- Ability to converse and exchange information with all levels of staff within the organization
- Ability to observe, perceive, and identify data
- Ability to travel via air, rail, automobile, and/or bus
