CAD Drafter

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour based on experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Create and modify 3D models from written, verbal, or hand sketched instructions.

· Communicate design criteria through shop drawings.

· Complete engineering change requests in support of continuous improvement.

· Collaborate with engineers and fabricators to solve manufacturing challenges.

· Use ERP software to create bills of materials.

· Perform in-process part inspections, communicating findings in verbal and written form.

· Implement effective manufacturing processes with support from manufacturing engineering.

· Engage in problem solving and effectively communicate with a diverse team.

· Use CAM software to create and maintain laser cutting, plasma cutting, and press brake forming programs for new and revised parts.

· Support new machinery implementation through programing and hands-on operation.

· Demonstrate a commitment to continued growth and professional development.

· Other duties & responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

· Operation of CAD/CAM software. Experience with Solidworks® preferred, but not required.

· Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical policies and procedures.

· Clear understanding of manufacturing tolerances and capabilities of sheet metal processes.

· Ability to measure and inspect parts and components, using standard inspection methods and tools, including precision measurement in a machine shop environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Associate degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Hands on experience in welding, fabrication, or machining strongly preferred.
