G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Middle School Coordinator to join its team in Denver, CO.
Summary
Our client seeks to provide access to entrepreneurship programming for all students, specifically working with students and schools in low-income communities. This position is responsible for the coordination and delivery of entrepreneurial programming and events for youth grades 5-9, including In-School Programming and Workshops. The role includes school outreach, account management, and teacher training for middle grades. Participation in additional departmental programming is involved, including Marketplace, Spotlight on Stars, Summer Camps, Young AmeriTowne, International Towne, and other programs as needed.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate workshops and classes for middle school students as part of their school requirements, both as on-site field trips and at their schools.
- Conduct outreach to middle schools and teachers of middle grades to inform them of the benefits and availability of programming.
- Work closely with Senior Director of Program Outreach to identify interested teachers and schools for program implementation.
- Successfully onboard and manage accounts of middle grade teachers/schools using the program, from initial conversation through program completion.
- Conduct teacher trainings for middle grade programs.
- Manage all data input and tracking for all middle school programs.
- Actively solicit applications from youth entrepreneurs, encouraging state-wide representation for the annual Spotlight on Stars Business Competition, which celebrates the passion and hard work of young business owners.
- Assist in the execution of Marketplace and Workshops for young entrepreneurs.
- Learn 1-3 areas in Young AmeriTowne and International Towne with the expectation to work in Towne 8 days/month.
- Constantly promote and facilitate various activities for young entrepreneurs, such as retail opportunities, media appearances, and speaking opportunities, as well as any programming in line with the mission of Young Americans Center for Financial Education.
Other Duties:
- Provide support to other programs management team members as required.
- Represent the organization at various functions as needed to promote programs.
- Attend outside activities as requested/required.
- Coordinate/assist with special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skill & Ability:
- Knowledge of the principles and practices associated with effective training techniques as they apply to children and adults.
- Knowledge of entrepreneurship principles and practices.
- Knowledge of effective classroom management techniques, especially for middle and high school students.
- Excellent communication skills, with both children and adults.
- Ability to handle stress and maintain discipline while working with up to 25 children per session.
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.
- Ability to plan, organize, and carry out assignments within given deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient using Word, Excel, Microsoft Publisher and other software.
- Must have access to reliable transportation.
Education and Experience:
- Working knowledge of entrepreneurship.
- A minimum of one years’ experience working in and facilitating educational programs.
- Non-Profit experience and a Bachelor’s degree desirable, or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
- A minimum of two years’ experience working with children.
