Job Title: Accountant

Position Summary:
The Accountant will play a key role in supporting the financial health of GIS by preparing and analyzing financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. This role will involve ensuring the accuracy of financial records, providing insights for decision-making, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The Accountant will work closely with the renewable energy department to maintain the integrity of the financial data and contribute to the continued success and growth of the company. Key tasks include managing financial transactions, performing reconciliations, assisting with audits, and ensuring timely tax filings. The Accountant will also contribute to the optimization of accounting processes and systems, helping to enhance the overall financial performance of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
- Preforms monthly variance analysis and review of the financial statements for accuracy.
- Prepares journal entries, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
- Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
- Preforms monthly variance analysis and review of the financial statements for accuracy.
- Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
- Works closely with accounts receivable department to manage customer collections and ensure correct receivable balances.
- Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts/projects.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
- Three to five years of accounting experience required.
- Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Highly proficient with accounting software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
