What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Colorist position at G-III Apparel Group?
Objective:
The Junior Colorist is responsible for fabric color, print and quality across the development to production stages within a product to production lifecycle. This is a support role to the existing fabric/color/design team. This role will work directly with our fabric, design, and production teams. This is a wonderful opportunity to work with leading global brand. The ideal candidate will need a strong aesthetic for color, ability to lead color direction in solids and prints. Strong print development and color separation background. The successful individual must have knowledge in textiles and correlation to color/print development.
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Direct communication and follow up with our mill supply chain and overseas factories daily.
• Manage approval process related to color, print and quality for fabric and garment.
• Partner with production to ensure timely execution of fabric bulk orders based on seasonal buys.
• Enter and maintain updates on WIPs related to development and season buys for your assigned division.
• Ensure mills, factories, and QC team overseas has sufficient records of approved fabric bulks.
• Work with PD/Design to preview all fabric ssy ordered and prep ready for pre-production costing. Maintain a fabric chart summary of all fabric detail sheets related to sample yardage developed by design and CAD team.
• Maintain fabric color library, in partnership with the team to ensure clear record keeping. This includes color reference books, fabric bulks, primary standards in both fabric & garment format.
• Maintaining seasonal color reference library for lap dips, bulk swatches, and the primary color book.
• Provide general administrative support to the Senior Colorist on assigned division.
Qualifications:
• 1-3 years of experience in apparel production or textile related industry.
• Has a keen sense of color or color theory.
• Textile knowledge and understanding of testing labs is a plus.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask with a keen sense of detail.
• Excellent time management, organizational skills, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, highly organize.
• PLM experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office & Google Suite
The pay range for this position is: $28.84 per hour/$60,000 per year (Annualized salary is based on a 40 hour work week)- $31.25 per hour/$65,000 per year (Annualized salary is based on a 40 hour work week)

Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
