G Mass Consulting is seeking a skilled Trade Surveillance Analyst to join the Compliance team of a leading hedge fund in New York City. This is an initial 12-month contract with a strong possibility of extension, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in trade surveillance, with a deep understanding of market detection frameworks and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct daily review and analysis of trade surveillance alerts across various asset classes, including equities and ideally other asset classes.
- Identify and investigate potential instances of market abuse, insider trading, or other regulatory concerns, escalating issues as needed.
- Perform in-depth investigations, document findings clearly, and maintain accurate records in line with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Front Office teams to ensure effective resolution of alerts and adherence to compliance protocols.
- Support the ongoing development and refinement of the in-house trade surveillance system through feedback and insights.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in a trade surveillance role within a hedge fund or asset management environment.
- Strong knowledge of FINRA, SEC, and other regulatory guidelines governing trading activities.
- Familiarity with equity order book and trade flow, with exposure to other asset classes being highly desirable.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify patterns in complex datasets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a high-paced, confidential setting.
- Comfortable thriving in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities with precision.
- Compensation: To be discussed (Corp to Corp).
- Contract Duration: Initial 12-month contract, with expectations to extend.
