Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and well-connected Retail Account Manager to lead our efforts in managing and expanding relationships with key retail accounts in the food sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the CPG industry, particularly in food products, and possess strong connections with retailers. This role will focus on driving revenue growth, promoting our high-quality product lines, and positioning De Silva Brothers as a preferred partner for retailers nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
Retail Account Development:
Manage and grow relationships with major retail accounts, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction.
Leverage existing industry connections to introduce De Silva Brothers' products to new retailers.
Collaborate with retailers to develop category growth strategies and increase shelf presence.
CPG Expertise:
Utilize knowledge of consumer-packaged goods (CPG) trends, especially in the food sector, to identify opportunities for innovation and expansion.
Partner with clients to optimize product placement, packaging, and promotional strategies tailored to the retail landscape.
Sales and Revenue Growth:
Develop and execute strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Identify and secure new business opportunities within the retail and food space.
Work closely with clients to understand their needs, challenges, and goals to provide tailored solutions.
Industry Networking:
Attend trade shows, industry events, and client meetings to build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers.
Stay informed about market trends, competitive activities, and emerging opportunities in the food CPG industry.
Account Management:
Monitor account performance and ensure the timely delivery of products and services.
Prepare detailed sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics for both clients and internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and logistics, to meet client expectations and enhance service delivery.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5 years of experience in retail account management or sales within the CPG food industry.
Established network of relationships with key retail buyers and decision-makers in the food space.
Strong understanding of the retail landscape, including grocery chains, specialty food stores, and mass-market retailers.
Proven ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies for CPG products.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
Preferred Skills:
Bilingual is Spanish.
Experience with private label product development.
Familiarity with food safety standards, certifications, and quality assurance processes.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market insights.
