What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk position at G & V Machine Company Inc?
G & V was established in 1946. Our Machinists craft various metal parts for our wide diverse customer base that includes, agriculture, construction, off road highway trucking, forestry, mining and other industries around the world. We are conveniently located in Ixonia near HWY 16 and Interstate 94 between Madison and Milwaukee, WI. We have employees from all surrounding cities and many that have been with us for a decade or more.
Under the direction of the Shipping and Receiving Manager, the Shipping Partner is responsible for wrapping, labeling, banding, and moving products within the shipping and receiving department as well as on the production floor as needed. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, flexible and works well in a team environment.
Job duties include but are not limited to…
- Band and shrink wrap skids and dividers.
- Putting away and scanning raw or finished goods into correct bins.
- Sorting misc. scrap dividers/skids and good dividers/skids to return to foundries.
- Loading and unloading trucks in shipping/receiving dept when drivers arrive.
- Clean/sweep/empty garbage and organize shipping warehouse as needed.
- Repack small parts by hand or using crane as needed for shipments in proper dunnage.
- Cross train in shipping/receiving dept plus material handling position
- Experience using handheld scanners
- Forklift/lift truck experience
- Cross-train with receiving to function as back-up
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent attendance is necessary
Successful candidates will possess the following:
- High School diploma or GED equivalency with at least two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
