Position Summary:
The Information Technology Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing computers and other electronic devices such as phones, faxes, printers, and copiers. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all IT support calls within the organization and is tasked with providing excellent customer support to the internal sales force on all electronics related to their jobs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Installation and Configuration:
- Install and configure computer systems, software, and hardware for various departments, focusing on the internal sales force.
Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine maintenance on computer systems and other electronic devices.
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software issues.
Customer Support:
- Respond to IT support calls and service tickets in a timely manner.
- Provide technical assistance to all internal staff
Asset Management:
- Help maintain accurate records of IT assets, including inventory and service history in collaboration with the Systems Specialist.
Communication:
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operation of communication and collaboration software like 8x8, Microsoft Teams, HCL email, and similar products.
- Document procedures and solutions for future reference using Issuetrak Software.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Solid understanding of computer hardware, Windows operating systems, and basic networking.
- 2-3 years of IT support experience.
Skills:
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and come up with practical solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer Service: Strong customer service orientation and ability to work with internal teams.
- Familiarity with various business productivity software: MS Office, Adobe, and similar products
- Familiarity with network principles, printer installation, PC configuration, and smart phone features
Physical & Mental Demands:
- Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients
- Consistently follows procedures and adheres to standards
- Must be able to understand and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form and follow directions.
