Quality Specialist
G & W Products is a leader in contract metal manufacturing and fabrication. Founded in 1968, our areas of expertise include metal stamping, laser cutting, fabrication, manual and robotic welding, tool and die work, powder coating and assembly. Our modern facilities include 170,000 square feet of manufacturing space between three facilities located in Fairfield, OH. We specialize in numerous industries including construction, transportation, energy, and defense. We have created a new opening for a Quality Specialist position. This position will report to the Quality Manager.
The Quality Specialist will be the eyes and ears to maintain strong communication with G&W’s suppliers, customers, and all internal organizational groups to ensure our quality level remains above expectations.
Essential Function Include:
- 5 years of Manufacturing experience with a minimum of 2 years in a quality position.
- Understanding and able to apply inspection metrology
- Proficient in GD&T
- Ability to troubleshoot defects and determine root cause of quality issues
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Must display great analytical skills.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
- Effective communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Quick learner and strategically committed to prioritize different work issues based on customer demands
Desirable:
- Experience in metal fabrication industry
- AIAG Core tools knowledge and implementation experience
- Experience with PolyWorks software
Responsibilities:
- Set up product and process inspection that includes selecting and applying correct measuring tools.
- To conduct product quality reviews associated with customer contract and G&W’s quality system requirements. Ensures that projects and products are capable and will meet specified standards.
- Develop and analyze statistical data and specifications to indicate present product and process standards.
- Investigate and provide solutions to problems for process and product non-conformance and MRB.
- Lead team-based problem-solving exercises.
- Actively participating and contributing to APQP activities including project launch meetings
