Job Description
Job Summary
The Mail Runner delivers mail and packages to different
vendors around the airport. They ensure that all incoming or
outgoing correspondence is handled efficiently and delivered
promptly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must be 18 years or older
HS diploma or GED
Valid Driver's License (Must meet the G2 Company Driving Policy)
One (1) year of customer service experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
B. PERSONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Treat all information as confidential.
Possess the tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees, and the public.
Must be able to read, write, understand, and carry out instructions in English.
Must be able to read identification badges, credentials, and labels on bottles, aerosol cans, and packages.
Must be able to open and close latches, zippers, and screw caps. Remove and feel beneath baggage contents and reach all sides of a bag.
Must be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and audible alarms generated by metal detection devices with other noise in the background.
Manual dexterity is required to operate hand-outs and to search for various shaped items and packages.
May be exposed to hazards resulting from investigation of alarms, and other irregularities.
Must be able to take verbal directions in English.
Must be able to read, wire, understand, and carry out instructions in English.
Must be able to sit, stand, lift up to 75 lbs., and/or bend throughout the shift.
Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
Must pass a pre-employment background check.
Must meet the requirements to obtain a security-sensitive identification badge.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver internal (inter-office) and external mail (couriers, postal services, etc.).
Deliver sorted mail and packages to the appropriate recipients within the organization.
Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS)
Collect outgoing mail from various departments and ensure timely postal service or courier dispatch.
Maintain accurate mail logs and packages, especially for important or confidential materials.
Communicate mail delivery issues, delays, or concerns with relevant departments or individuals.
Ability to walk and move around the airport frequently.
Capability to lift and carry mail and packages (typically up to 50 lbs.).
Comfortable standing for extended periods during delivery tasks
Perform other duties as requested.
