THE OPPORTUNITYOur Client is searching for a Lead Wireless Systems Engineer to be part of different stages of the projects involving wireless technology, including planning, design, implementation, prototyping, verification, and validation. This role requires on-site presence for at least 3 days a week. On-site work is scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESSystem design and specification requirementsAlgorithmic development, simulation, implementation, and testingSystem performance simulation, bench marking, and testingFixed point modeling and FPGA design and verification supportSupporting FPGA and Software development teams for hardware / software implementation and troubleshootingLeading a team of multi-disciplinary engineers for product and feature development as requiredSetting, tracking, and driving development schedules and tasksDesigning and participating in lab and field testing and troubleshootingPreparing technical materials and documentationParticipating in R&D business development and capture efforts as neededUnderstanding existing products and technologies and collaborating with other teams for future enhancements and strategiesOccasional travel may be required to support customer interactions or test and demonstration eventsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSM.S. or Ph.D. in wireless communications and signal processingAt least 7 years of experience in designing and developing wireless systemsInvolvement in the entire wireless technology development cycle, from design to field testingExtensive knowledge and experience in RF propagation and channel modelingExtensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of digital communication systems, including RF subsystems, synchronizations, channel estimation, and channel codingExtensive knowledge of signal processing algorithms, MIMO, and OFDMExtensive experience in modeling and mitigating RF impairments, such as AGC, phase noise, and frequency / clock offsetExperience with fixed-point modeling, implementation, and verificationExpertise in MATLAB programming and simulationMust be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contractsPREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES(exposure and experience desired, expertise preferred)Wireless mobile ad-hoc networking, medium access, and routing algorithmsCognitive radio congested and contested spectrum and interference mitigationRF sensing, signal detection, and classification, etc.Technical writing and presentationNOTE – Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
