Leading NYS Personal Injury Law Firm in Rockville Centre is seeking an Assistant Bookkeeper to become a part of our team of excellence!

The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred and at least 2 years’ experience in related field. Candidate should have strong multitasking, organizational and communication skills, adhere to deadlines, and detail oriented. The candidate must be comfortable working with various accounting software and accounting databases. The goal is to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of all accounting transactions. A desire to work within a collaborative environment that fosters a close-knit culture enabling professional growth is a plus.

Responsibilities
- Assist with tax preparation and filing
- Process accounts payable and ensure timely payments
- Perform double entry bookkeeping tasks - Utilize accounting software to record financial transactions
- Assist with technical accounting tasks as needed
- Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
- Utilize QuickBooks for day-to-day bookkeeping tasks
- Assist with general ledger reconciliation
Skills:
- Proficient in tax preparation and filing procedures
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes
- Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping principles
- Experience using accounting software for financial record keeping
- Understanding of technical accounting concepts and practices
- Ability to assist with budgeting and financial forecasting activities
- Proficient in conducting balance sheet reconciliation
