SUMMARYThe Parent Outreach Ambassador serves as a liaison to parents, teachers and administrators to promote and encourage parental and family engagement to encourage student success.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Complies with the state approved Code of Ethics of the Education Profession and upholds and enforces department/unit procedures, administrative directives and state statutes concerning the confidentiality of all staff information.All functions are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and computer security regulations.Works collaboratively with school administrators and staff to develop and implement a comprehensive program to improve and increase parental involvement in education at the assigned school sites that meet the requirements of section 1116 of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).Articulates and facilitates the implementation of the mission and values of the assigned schools and the Gadsden Independent School District.Safeguards confidentiality of privileged information regarding the district, families, students and professional colleagues.Prepares and maintains accurate and complete records and reports as required by law, state directives, district policy and administrative regulations including evidence of Parent Involvement/Engagement activities at assigned campuses.Maintains professional relationships and works cooperatively with school and district employees, parents, community members, and other professionals.Is knowledgeable in Parent and Family Engagement policies that meet the requirements of section 1116 of the ESSA.Supports school administration with the organization and implementation of district and campus level parent meetings and family events.Recruits and supports parent volunteers at campuses, in agreement with the campus Parent and Family Engagement/ Involvement Plan.Supports district and school sponsored activities at the centers and/or at campuses.Work schedule must be flexible to cover Community Centers hours of 8 am to 6pm and include Saturday events.Transports parents, when needed to school events following district protocols for transport.Submits monthly activity log and bi-monthly mileage logs to Federal Programs Coordinator.Meets monthly with the Federal Programs Coordinator to formulate, review and update the Action Plan.Consistently visits schools to provide support/assistance with parental involvement.Exhibits professionalism in appearance and demeanor.Cares for the district provided electronic devices/equipment.Performs other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.
