What are the responsibilities and job description for the Craftsman/Technician position at Gahanna-Jefferson City School District?
SUMMARY: To help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Demonstrates sound judgment and emotional stability.
•Maintains a positive attitude and works well with others.
•Ensures the safety of students.
•Interacts with staff, students and the community in a positive and respectful manner.
•Repairs/maintains all types of heating ventilating and air conditioning equipment (HVAC).
•Repairs, replaces, maintains, monitors and calibrates control panels and thermostats of all systems to maintain standard working temperatures.
•Installs/tests new equipment.
•Accurately orders/accounts for material/labor in relation to assignments.
•Repairs/maintains kitchens and associated equipment.
•Maintains all safety and code requirements of state/local and Board of Education guidelines.
•Knowledge of kitchen and refrigeration equipment, including combi-ovens and dishwashers.
•Understanding of gas fired equipment.
•Basic electrical experience. Able to read wiring diagrams.
•May be required to be on 24-hour call.
•Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Salary : $26 - $30
