Our client is a leading law firm with offices across the country. They are seeking a Patent Practice Secretary to join the team. The position is hybrid, with 3 days onsite at their beautiful office in Roseland, NJ.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare new patent applications for filing
- Assist with preparing communications for attorneys
- Write formal documents and obtain appropriate signatures
- Accurately and in a timely manner upload documents into client databases
- Review patents and prepare Certificates of Correction
- Prepare Information Disclosure Statements or Supplemental Disclosure
- Maintain reference citations in the database
- Answer telephones, take messages, greet guests and clients
- Asist with creating new client accounts
- Enter attorney timesheets
- Organize and maintain electronic and paper client files
- Assist with monthly billing
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1-2 years' experience in patent prosecution
- Basic knowledge of USPTO Systems
- Ability to use CFR, MPEP, etc.
- Familiarity with reviewing and reconciling patent documents
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and docket software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 based on experience
