We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Claims Team Leader Level I. In this role, you will provide ongoing training, coaching, counseling, and performance management for staff primarily handling a mixture of low to intermediate complexity coverage and liability automobile accident investigations. What does a CLAIMS TEAM LEADER- LEVEL 1 do?

• Coach, train, and support team members to develop and improve their skills.
• Lead a team of 4-6 Level 1 Claims Representatives.
• Accomplish results by coaching, counseling, and training direct reports.
• Identify and execute recruitment activities to ensure a strong talent pool.
• Influence others at all levels in the organization and drive consensus on key decisions.
• Ensure prompt and accurate handling of new and existing claims.
• Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to adjusters and management.
• Review and audit claims to identify and develop process improvement opportunities.
• Ensure all files are consistent and properly documented in adherence to company and state policies and procedures.
• Resolve customer complaints, problems, and coverage questions that cannot be handled by team members.
• Assist and direct special projects and requests.
• Communicate proactively with key personnel in other departments.
• Supervise, evaluate performance, and recommend salary changes for personnel.
• Participate in the interview and selection of new personnel and assist with other staffing decisions.
• Manage incoming work volume for employees.
  
  

What is required?

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  
  

Licenses/ Certifications:

• To perform the essential functions of this job an active Texas or Florida Adjuster License will be required to comply with state and GAINSCO requirements.
• Upon hire, additional license(s) may be required. If that is the case, license(s) must be obtained.
• All licenses must be maintained in accordance with state requirements.
  

Experience:

• Minimum of Two years of experience in Auto Insurance as a Claims Adjuster.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
• Insurance background required.
• Non-standard auto insurance experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of ImageRight and Claims Manager preferred.
  
  

Other skills and abilities:

• Possesses superior verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to impart knowledge of customer service best practices to new adjusters.
• Demonstrates the ability to effectively prioritize and delegate tasks, while simultaneously fostering a positive and productive team environment.
• Ability to diffuse tense situations with customers and train others on how to de-escalate and resolve customer complaints.
• Ability to efficiently manage own time and the time of others.
• Ability to exercise objective judgment and critical decision-making.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify approaches and solutions to problems.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
