What does a CLAIMS TEAM LEADER- LEVEL 1 do?
- Coach, train, and support team members to develop and improve their skills.
- Lead a team of 4-6 Level 1 Claims Representatives.
- Accomplish results by coaching, counseling, and training direct reports.
- Identify and execute recruitment activities to ensure a strong talent pool.
- Influence others at all levels in the organization and drive consensus on key decisions.
- Ensure prompt and accurate handling of new and existing claims.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to adjusters and management.
- Review and audit claims to identify and develop process improvement opportunities.
- Ensure all files are consistent and properly documented in adherence to company and state policies and procedures.
- Resolve customer complaints, problems, and coverage questions that cannot be handled by team members.
- Assist and direct special projects and requests.
- Communicate proactively with key personnel in other departments.
- Supervise, evaluate performance, and recommend salary changes for personnel.
- Participate in the interview and selection of new personnel and assist with other staffing decisions.
- Manage incoming work volume for employees.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- To perform the essential functions of this job an active Texas or Florida Adjuster License will be required to comply with state and GAINSCO requirements.
- Upon hire, additional license(s) may be required. If that is the case, license(s) must be obtained.
- All licenses must be maintained in accordance with state requirements.
- Minimum of Two years of experience in Auto Insurance as a Claims Adjuster.
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
- Insurance background required.
- Non-standard auto insurance experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of ImageRight and Claims Manager preferred.
- Possesses superior verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to impart knowledge of customer service best practices to new adjusters.
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively prioritize and delegate tasks, while simultaneously fostering a positive and productive team environment.
- Ability to diffuse tense situations with customers and train others on how to de-escalate and resolve customer complaints.
- Ability to efficiently manage own time and the time of others.
- Ability to exercise objective judgment and critical decision-making.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify approaches and solutions to problems.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
