Summary

HMS is hiring Financial Services Representatives to support our Alaska account. These representatives will perform cash management / processing functions related to Alaska Medicaid. Supports the financial services business process team in delivering efficient and effective outsourced processes and services within the Alaska Medicaid program. Demonstrates business knowledge and skills developed through formal job-related training or work experience. Works within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision. Identifies issues and all contributing factors in straightforward situations, assesses each using standard procedures, and makes sound decisions.

Your role in our mission

  • Accurate typing and adding, manage deposit information / tapes / account numbers, verify spreadsheets / banking information, daily fund verification (inflows and outflows).
  • Analyzes claim payments.
  • Enters financial transactions.
  • Responds to internal and external client inquiries.
  • Processes paper checks or warrants.
  • Performs bank reconciliations and reconciles and processes annual 1099s.
  • Processes voids and stop payments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you should expect in this role

  • Two or more years of financial services experience. Firm understanding of financial practices. Experience with Cash Receipts and / or related financial duties.
  • Background in and understanding of Medicaid helpful. Attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer relations skills. Ability and willingness to research and resolve customer and leader inquiries and explain complex issues to providers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers, and to build trusting relationships through collaborative work activities.
  • Ability to identify and communicate trends. Ability and willingness to train and mentor other team members.
  • What we're looking for

  • Initially required to work onsite for the first 6 months.
  • Transition to a hybrid schedule, consisting of half days in the office and half working from home.

    The pay range for this position is $35,900 - $51,300 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
