Job Title: Material Handling Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handling Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of materials within our facility. This role requires a strong focus on safety, organization, and teamwork to ensure that materials are managed effectively.

• Material Handling & Movement:
  • Receive, unload, and process incoming materials and supplies.
  • Transport materials to designated areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
  • Ensure the accurate staging, loading, and unloading of products for shipment or production use.
• Inventory Control:
  • Perform regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records using inventory management systems.
  • Assist in cycle counting and inventory reconciliation processes.
  • Identify and report discrepancies in inventory and shipments.
  • Record and monitor daily Inventory transaction with Production and Shipping.
• Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
  • Operate and maintain various material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance issues.
• Safety & Compliance:
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Participate in safety training programs and report any unsafe practices.
• Documentation & Reporting:
  • Prepare and maintain shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation.
  • Ensure accurate data entry in warehouse management systems.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding material needs and inventory status.
• Other Responsibilities:
  • Job Description is not limited to the listed activities, other duties and responsibilities will be assigned.
  • General Warehouse cleanliness and organization
  • Temporarily assigned to other departments to assist with workload and occasional down time.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training is a plus.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in material handling or warehouse operations.
• Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
• Knowledge of inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials up 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with ERP systems or warehouse management software.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced production environment.

Work Environment:

• Warehouse or production facility setting.
• Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and physical demands.
• Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) .
