What are the responsibilities and job description for the Architect II position at Gala & Associates Inc.?

Responsibilities :

Research, plan, design, and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials
Consults with client to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.
Plans schematic design of project and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
Reviews drawings and contract documents for building contractors.
Participates in construction contracts and conducts periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans.
Use of computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans.
Review work with Sr. Staff to ensure applications of sound architectural practices.

Qualifications / Experience Required :

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.

Five years of experience in Design Architecture in Industrial / Manufacturing Environment.

Professional Registration – or willingness to obtain – AIA, NCARB.

LEED Certification – or willingness to obtain.

Understanding of Architectural processes and principles for creation of design documents, drawings, and models.

Understanding of applicable design standards and building codes.

Technical knowledge of Architectural computer programs – Experienced in MS Office programs, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, and others as may be required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
