Job Title: Traveling Site Superintendent
Location: Midwest Region (Illinois, Missouri, Iowa)

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Traveling Site Superintendent to oversee and manage construction job sites across the Midwest region, specifically in Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing construction projects from start to finish, strong leadership skills, and a hands-on approach. They will be onsite daily, actively working alongside their crew to ensure quality, safety, and project completion within deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Perform construction labor tasks as needed, including carpentry, framing, concrete work, and other related tasks.
· Proactively supervise and coordinate all construction activities on job sites, anticipating and addressing needs to ensure smooth operations and timely project completion.
· Perform and oversee all aspects of concrete work, including site preparation, form setting, pouring, and finishing, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to project specifications and timelines.
· Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
· Operate construction equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
· Ensure projects are completed according to plans, specifications, and local building codes.
· Monitor project schedules and budgets, making adjustments as necessary.
· Lead and direct onsite construction teams, including subcontractors and laborers.
· Conduct regular site meetings to communicate project goals, progress, and expectations.
· Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets quality standards.
· Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during construction.
· Maintain a clean and organized job site.
· Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
· Conduct safety meetings and ensure all team members adhere to safety guidelines.
· Maintain detailed and accurate project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and incident reports.
Required Skills & Abilities
· Ability to perform physical labor and operate construction equipment
· Proven track record of managing projects with multiple, competing and concurrent deadlines
· Ability to include appropriate people in decision-making process
· Demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to motivate a team
· Ability to read and understand blueprints/drawings and relevant contract documents
· Proficient in use of a personal computer and software programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers,
subcontractors and clients
Education and Experience
· 5 years construction management experience preferred
· OSHA 30-hour certification or willingness to obtain
· First Aid/CPR certification is a plus
· Experience with government contracts preferred
Physical Requirements
· Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite
· Prolonged periods of remaining in a stationary position
· Move from different areas of the jobsite
· Position self to perform various construction related tasks
· Work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain
· Operate and position tools, equipment, and materials required for construction tasks
· Observe details at close range
· Move heavy materials frequently
· Operate motor vehicles and heavy equipment
Travel Requirements
· Regular on-site presence required within the Midwest Region (Illinois, Missouri, Iowa)
· Occasional travel to other states may be necessary based on project needs
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
