Job Title: Intake Supervisor – Case Worker
Supervisor: Position Type: Salary $47,000 – $52,000
Job Purpose:
Intake Supervisor – Case Worker, under the direction of the Assistant Director, supports the company’s mission by ensuring that all people seeking Galilee Center’s services are satisfactorily assisted while maintaining client information and confidentiality. The Intake supervisor helps Galilee Center’s leads and intake staff and facilitates appropriate training for new hires.
Essential Duties:
· Ensure that the welcoming of families when they arrive at Galilee Center Shelter is done promptly and appropriately.
· Ensure staff and leads are reviewing the shelter rules daily.
· Ensures and makes a copy of the family’s immigration documents.
· Assist and train others to complete intake interviews, enter information on the computer, and contact family or sponsors.
· Coordinate travel arrangements and provide a description of flight tickets and airport gates.
· Arrange transportation to the airport or bus station.
· Checks all files for completeness, corrects errors, maintains clear and understandable case notes in all files, and ensures that all new families sign intake forms.
· Enter client data in the Master spreadsheet after services are provided to maintain updated records and train others to do the same.
· Maintain confidentiality and verify the information by building a physical filing system, backing up data, and updating data entry software
· Set up beds in the community room and provide hygiene products and clean towels.
· Inform the correct chat group on how many people will be arriving and if there are any food restrictions.
· Run queries and generate monthly client reports and other reports by request.
· Keeps management informed by reviewing and analyzing special reports, summarizing information, and identifying trends.
· Consistently ensures the team provides the client with attentive, courteous, and informative service. Gains and shows personal satisfaction from delivering excellent service.
· Contributes to team effort by performing other duties and activities to accomplish results as needed.
· Adheres to strict boundaries and professional ethics in the care of others.
· Conducts crisis intervention as needed.
Skills:
· Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
· Requires sufficient ambulatory skills to perform duties while providing food/clothing.
· Exceptional customer service skills
· Reads, writes, and speaks fluent English and Spanish using appropriate grammar, style, and vocabulary. Correctly spells commonly used English/Spanish words and job-specific terms.
· Organizational ability - Demonstrates a systematic approach to carrying out assignments. It is orderly and excels at cutting through confusion and turning chaos into order.
· Problem-solving skills - Demonstrates a strong ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems. Translates problems into practical solutions.
· Computer skills - Comfortably and confidently uses a computer and specialized software. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in human services or social services preferred
Three or more years of experience in social services & referrals.
