Overview
The role of the VP of HR will work as part of the Executive Leadership team of North America to provide business focused, strategic and operational HR advice and service on all talent management related issues.
This role will collaborate with HR COEs and business leaders to drive the development, implementation, and execution of the People Strategy. As a key member of both the domestic and global HR team, it will play a critical role in advancing best-practice talent management initiatives that align with business objectives.
Reporting to the Global Vice President of Human Resources, this position also has a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Chief Executive Officer of North America and holds a seat on the Executive Leadership Team, ensuring HR strategies are closely integrated with business priorities.

How You'll Make An Impact
- Work in partnership with the Leadership Team and Operations to identify the people implications of strategic business plans. Promote new ways of working and agreeing appropriate interventions to maximize opportunities, support change and manage risk.
- Lead the development, implementation and delivery of the People Strategy.
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR Leadership Group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
- Facilitate effective workforce planning via the HR and Capability leaders and GB leadership to identify the capacity and capability of the organization to deliver its objectives.
- Provide professional senior level, strategic HR advice on the interpretation of HR policies and procedures, employment legislation, recruitment strategies, and managing change processes, providing risk analysis to support this. Constructively challenge decisions which are not aligned to company values or the best interest of the organization.
- Identify and promote new ways of working in regard to people management in support of delivering the local business plan and the National HR strategy.
- Ensure that the HR and Capability leaders are effectively managing Talent Management, Talent Development, Resource Planning/Recruitment, Learning & Development of local business unit needs.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to the Executive Committee and Senior Leadership Team and HR and Capability leaders in all HR related matters and for their own personal development.
- In liaison with the CEO, take accountability for enhancing the Culture and employee engagement of the local business units.
- Provide advice and support for all escalated Employee Relations matters to ensure that any potential risk is mitigated.
- Work with the local business units to ensure that the performance evaluation (myPerformance) process is meaningful and aligned to merit review outcomes. Provide support in the development of relevant and meaningful goals.
- Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning which integrates into the Global Key Talent program.
- Provide Remuneration support and advice in conjunction with the Corporate Compensation specialists.
- Contribute to policy development and implementation.
- Provide effective leadership and coaching to the business.
Required Experience
- Substantial level of experience in Strategic and Executive HR service and advice.
- High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building strong business relationships.
- Strong commercial acumen ability and mind set.
- Role model for inclusion and collaboration.
- Knowledge and experience in implementing HR related initiatives regarding Culture and Values.
- Demonstrated ability to influence business outcomes in alignment with HR and business needs.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, champion and implement change.
- Strong working knowledge of Employee Relations and Federal Employment Standards.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree and 10 years related experience
- Formal Coaching Qualifications
- An Operational or Management Consultant background
