The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the Galt House Hotel, ensuring fiscal responsibility, accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards. - Support all aspects of accounting management (billing, tax forms, reporting etc.)
- Ensures compliance with all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).
- Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments.
- Lead and direct the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting and cost accounting.
- Ensure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals.
- Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc.
- Monitors systems to ensure accuracy of data (e.g., outlet menu prices) and support the achievement of revenue goals.
- Collaborate with corporate finance team to provide accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Responsible for the preparation, evaluation, and analysis of all reports of the hotel, including income statement and balance sheet activity.
- Responsible for the oversight of customer credit and accounts receivables for the property
- Participate in the implementation of information systems within the hotel, concentrating on the improvement of the quality, brevity and timeliness of the information.
- Collaborate on the design and development of financial management reports and procedures for use by hotel operating team.
- Compile budgets and forecasts covering all activities of the hotel.
- Assist with the hotel's cash handling operations and procedures.
- Oversee the property's purchasing and receiving functions.
- Manage all aspects of labor and expense forecasting and reporting through collaboration with the hotel leadership team.
- Prepares various analytical reports outlining the hotel's financial position in areas of income, expense and earnings based on past, present and future operations
- Ensure proper procedures and controls for purchasing, receiving, and requisitioning
- Help manage all aspects of the general ledger
- Providing monthly, quarterly and year-end analyses
- Researching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Supervising accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting departments
- Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts
- Participate in preparation for the annual audit
- Help in development of reports for management or regulatory bodies
- Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
- Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records
- Supporting most aspects of accounting management

- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Hospitality or related field, Economic a plus.
- CPA preferred, not required.
- Five years of progressive experience in financial analysis, budgeting and/or accounting within the hospitality industry.
- Experience managing a team with a focus on staff development preferred.
- Experience with/or managing a purchasing department and cost controls preferred.
- Familiarity with Property Management Systems, Point of Sale Systems, Microsoft Office software, accounting software and Accounting Procurement software.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial statements and forecasts.
- Demonstrates initiative, leadership, and entrepreneurial drive to improve financial performance whenever and wherever possible.
- Strong IT understanding of networks and data security.
