Leasing Assistant – Full Time 35 Hours
The Leasing Assistant is responsible for providing primary support to the Compliance & Leasing Manager. The person in this position will work collaboratively to ensure the ongoing leasing and related fiscal activities of the organization are executed in a satisfactory manner. The Leasing Coordinator reports to the Compliance & Leasing Manager. In the absence of the Compliance & Leasing Manager, the Leasing Coordinator reports to the Director of Operations.
Responsibilities
Leasing, Compliance, & Tenant Relations
· Assist with preparation of leases for new tenants, data collection for lease re-certifications, and notifications of non-renewal.
· Assist with preparation of annual affordable housing rent increase requests for submission to HCR & USDA for approval.
· Assist with preparation of files for review during regulator inspections.
· Creation of memos and notices to tenants for distribution as relevant.
· Issue and follow up on lease violation notices in collaboration with Property Management.
· Communicate with tenants regarding lease related issues.
· Contact contractors/vendors to follow up on bids and contracts.
· Regularly scheduled on-site office hours at Greenport, Philmont, and Coxsackie locations. Meet tenants to collect recertification paperwork, answer questions, and make referrals for services.
Finance
· Process payments, receipts, invoices, and rent assistance vouchers.
· Daily entering of all checks received into Appfolio for credit to tenant or other ledgers.
· Daily deposit of all checks received into related property accounts via either remote deposit capture (scanner) or by bringing to the Bank for deposit.
· Monthly AR reconciliation with Compliance & Leasing Manager to determine arrears requiring follow up.
· Assist Compliance & Leasing Manager with eviction proceedings. Research issues and provide evidence to be presented.
· Refer tenants seeking assistance and public inquiries regarding housing and programs to Housing Counselor for follow up.
· Assist the Director of Operations with special projects and additional responsibilities as needed.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
