What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Clerk position at Galveston County?
- The purpose of this class is to provide basic clerical support to help ensure the smooth operation of assigned department.
- Performs word processing duties for preparation of memoranda, letters, departmental procedures and other documents.
- Answers telephones; provides information and assistance, takes messages or forwards to appropriate personnel; greets and assists visitors.
- Inventories and orders supplies as necessary.
- Processes invoices for payment and is responsible for departmental purchasing records and related documents.
- Prepares and gathers budget information for data entry and reports.
- Maintains records of expenditures and reconciles accounts.
- Maintains the departmental calendars.
- Prepares and coordinates travel arrangements for conferences and training in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
Requires one year of experience providing clerical support or closely related experience.
