The purpose of this class is to lead and manage technology-related projects and initiatives, bringing them to successful completion within scope, on time, and within budget. This position also gathers business requirements from departments and subject matter experts to improve upon current processes and potentially subsequent project phase implementations.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Contributes to a project portfolio management platform. Manages multiple technology projects simultaneously.Uses industry-standard project methodologies to drive timely implementation of projects, within budget, and within scope.Works directly with IT staff and county departments and agencies to prioritize tasks and assignments on projects.Coordinates closely with IT and other departments as appropriate to ensure the right resources are assigned to the projects to meet project goals.Facilitates and leads various meetings and presentations.Builds, tracks, and updates project schedules; oversees project estimates and staffing.Resolves escalations and issues identified by project teams and escalates to management when necessary for prompt resolution.Performs timely and accurate project status reporting to all project stakeholders and county leadership as directed.Creates and maintains a repository of all project-appropriate documentation including but not limited to project charter, project scope, business requirements, RAID log, project status reports, and project closure documents.Collaborates with vendors to assess requirements, ensure functionality and drive success on behalf of the county.Elicits, analyzes, and documents business requirements and processes as needed.Performs other duties as assigned.

Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken. The work is typically performed in an office.
