We are looking for a dynamic People Operations Generalist to drive a best-in-class employee experience in a remote work environment, ideally in the DC/MD/VA area. In this role, you will serve as a culture champion, leading and supporting various initiatives that enhance engagement and workplace culture. You will also play a key role in core HR functions, including FMLA administration, onboarding, and recruiting support.
Additionally, you will collaborate with the Director of People Operations on process improvement efforts and leverage your expertise in learning and development to design and implement tailored training programs. A strong understanding of employee relations and government contracting is essential
Essential Functions

- Drive learning and development initiatives by designing and delivering customized training programs that align with operational goals
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations, managing complex issues with professionalism and providing guidance to support a positive work environment
- Handle day-to-day HR responsibilities including FMLA administration, onboarding of new hires, and supporting recruitment efforts
- Lead and implement small process improvement initiatives to enhance HR operations and the overall employee experience
- Collaborate with team members to foster an inclusive, productive work environment, supporting various organizational needs
- Demonstrate understanding and application of government contracting requirements and ensure HR processes align with relevant industry standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements
Must Have
- 5 or more years of experience in an HR Generalist role with a demonstrated focus on learning and development and employee relations
- Strong understanding of government contracting processes and related HR requirements
- Proven expertise in managing FMLA, onboarding, employee relations, and recruiting support functions
- Ability to design and adapt training programs to meet diverse team needs across the organization
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills with a proactive approach to process improvement
- Passionate about building and supporting diverse and inclusive teams and cultures
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on excellence
- Great team player with a collaborative mindset towards the team
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and drive towards multiple deadlines

Required education and experience
- 5 years in a People Operations role, with at least 1 year in a talent-focused role
Preferred education and experience
- Ability to develop, document and implement workflows
Proficiency Requirement:
The candidate is expected to demonstrate proficiency in all essential job functions, tools, and processes related to this position within the first 90 days of employment. This includes acquiring a thorough understanding of job-specific responsibilities, systems, and workflows as outlined during onboarding and training. Failure to meet this requirement may result in additional training, reassessment, or other actions as deemed necessary by management.
The base salary range for this position is $92k - $130,478
This base salary range represents a general guideline. An individual’s base salary within that range is determined based on a variety of factors, including (without limitation) the scope, complexities, and responsibilities of the position, the government contract to which the position is assigned, geographic location, market conditions, and the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and skills.
