About the role
The People Operations Generalist (HR Generalist) manages the day-to-day operations of the People Operations office. The HR Generalist reports directly to the Chief People Officer (CPO) and is tasked with the administration of the People Operations policies, procedures, and programs. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: administrative, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, and employment.

What you'll do
- Administrative
- Updates employee files to document personnel actions, and evaluations and to provide information for payroll and other issues.
- Update and maintain the HRIS System
- Coordinate with Payroll personnel all changes in employee’s pay, status and taxes.
- Assists with planning and conducting New Hire Orientation and training classes, including but not limited to, ensuring the completion of new hire paperwork, including badges, fostering company goals, and teaching training and orientation classes
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as needed
- Performs other tasks for the People Operations Department when needed.
- Assists in establishing departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the company's strategic goals
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of the People Operation section on the website, particularly culture, company information, and Intranet sites
Compliance
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting People Operations functions
- Provides employee information to the Quality Assurance department as needed for investigations
- Ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Works with CPO to conduct investigations into employee complaints, grievances or concerns
- Advises managers and supervisors about the steps in the progressive discipline system of the organization.
- Assists with the implementation of company safety and health programs.
Benefit Management
- Keeps records of benefits plan participation such as insurance and retirement plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurance, retirement plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Works with compensation and benefits administration
- Manages workman’s compensation filings
Employment
- Assists in the recruitment process for exempt and nonexempt employees and interns using the standard recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce.
- Assists in interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions, as needed.
- Assists in recruitment activities, including, but not limited to in-house and community career fairs and advertisements, serves on employee selection committees, and meetings, as needed.
Employee Relations
- Works closely with management and direct line staff
- Assists with the development and implementation of People Operations policies for the company
- Promotes a positive employer-employee relationship and promotes a high level of employee morale and satisfaction.
- Assists the Talent Acquisition Manager in wage surveys within the labor market to determine competitive wage rates.
- Maintains employee safety, welfare, wellness and health initiatives
- Collaborates with the CPO and Director of Training to develop a mentorship program for entry-level staff to learn more about tasks and skills needed for supervisory and managerial positions.
- Complete administrative and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related relevant field
- SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience performing HR administrative or talent acquisitions.
- Knowledge of all Human Resources/employment laws regarding hiring.
- Desire to grow and learn more about the People Operations field.
Salary: $60,000-65,000 annually
