Position: Quality Assurance Inspector II Metal Fabrication

About the Position
The Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector is responsible for receiving, in-process, and final inspections of aircraft components and assemblies. The scope of inspection may be in composites, electrical, mechanical, metal fabricated articles, or hydraulic systems. This position requires high integrity and sound judgement to inspect components to FAA approved engineering instructions. Additionally, the QA Inspector will assist in the connection of engineered requirements to the production floor.
What you will do
Key Responsibilities include:
Receiving inspection of incoming components to verify conformity and quality.
Preliminary inspection of tools or equipment. This may include validating the identification or calibration of items.
In-process inspection of composite and metallic components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies under construction.
Perform verification inspections or tests to ensure equipment operates as intended.
Document non-conformances per company guidelines.
Stop work at any process where a non-conformance will or has occurred. This requires high integrity and a deep understanding of company procedures and FAA regulations.
Perform surveillance audits of production processes to ensure conformance to policies or engineered procedures.
Participate in/lead root cause and corrective action investigations.
Identify production inefficiencies and suggest potential improvements to product or process.
Use strong communication skills that support working in a team-oriented environment.
Experience and Qualifications required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and decipher engineering blueprints.
Ability to use precision measurement equipment and understand basic shop math.
Ability to frequently perform work while walking, sitting, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, crouching, and reaching.
Must obtain Welder/Weld Inspector certification under Game Composites qualification plan within the first 90 days of employment.
Must have minimum of 5 years previous experience in a metal fabrication/welding environment with proven knowledge of coordinate measuring machine (CMM) usages.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
3 years of composite experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
FAA airframe and powerplant (A&P) certification or previous experience working on, modifying, or inspecting aircraft.
Previous experience in a Quality Control/Assurance position in metal fabrication and welding, either manufacturing or repair station.
