Job Summary
As the medical practice’s owner and primary healthcare advocate, the Medical Director assures delivery of quality services to all patients. The Medical Director shares in the administrative functions that directly impact medical services and collaborates with the manager in the overall planning and budgeting for the practice. This includes but is not limited to training and monitoring of Physician Assistants (PA) and Nurse Practitioners (NP), as well as leadership and guidance to the medical team. The Medical Director will also supervise the on-site moderate complexity lab.
Job Duties:
- Medical Staff Supervision and Training
- Be on-site at the Gameday physical clinic(s) at least twice monthly to ensure proper oversight and supervision of all mid-level practitioners (PAs and NPs) medical activities.
- When not on site, be available to provide clinical direction to their PAs, NPs, and Medical Assistants (MAs) via direct communication either in call, text, and/or email.
- Participate in the ongoing training and continuous education of all Gameday treatment modalities, ensuring that it is up to date with the requirements of the necessary entities.
- Support recruiting and training of physician assistants and nurse practitioners as necessary.
- Enforce all medical procedures and policies.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Complete a thorough review of at least the minimum required PA and NP medical charts as dictated by state and federal law.
- Delegate to the mid-level practitioner (PA and NP) only those tasks and procedures consistent with the supervising physician's specialty or usual and customary practice.
- Ensure state and federal compliant Delegation Agreements are in place and up to date at all times.
- Supervise the moderate complexity on-site lab and delegate tasks to the technical consultant as needed.
- Clinic Administrative Support
- Participate, in conjunction with the manager, in the overall budget planning and monitoring process; review the formulation and evaluation of project goals and budgets.
- Handle elevated clinical patient complaints.
- Advises on purchase of medical equipment.
- Reviews input from staff on their ideas and concerns with the manager.
- Review results of patient satisfaction surveys.
Competencies, Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
- At least one year supervising or directing non-waived (moderate or high complexity lab) testing experience (must be able to prove this experience with signed job description from previous employer and CLIA lab number)
- Current medical license to practice medicine in the state where the center is located
- Current unrestricted D.E.A. registration.
- Supervisory experience is highly desirable.
- Skill in using computer programs and applications (including but not limited to email, Microsoft Office, EMR systems)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $2,000.00 - $4,000.00 per month
