Job Title: Events Operations Manager - Gameday Spirit Fanstore, Official Fanstore of the Northwestern Wildcats


Location: Evanston, IL; On-Site

Department: Retail Operations

Reports To: Regional Director of Retail and Event Operations

Type: Full-time, 40-60 hrs/wk

Pay: $55-70k, commensurate with experience



Gameday Spirit Fanstore is searching for an Events Operations Manager to help take a lead in all aspects of the retail warehouse & events concession locations. Must have the technical skills to accurately process the daily business, including event set up & tear down, staff training, & understanding of POS systems. The right individual for this position has to be driven to see our market succeed. Must have schedule flexibility to be available for all home Northwestern sporting events, including but not limited to Football, Basketball, Lacrosse, Field Hockey, Volleyball, Soccer, etc.


This position may not necessarily work every game but should be on the ready for this expectation, if the circumstance arises. Must have the ability to schedule all staff, plan ahead for sporting seasons, hire, fire, and train part-time operations associates. Manager will staff all home football games.


Must have the professionalism and communications skills necessary for maintaining University relationships. Be willing to learn and grow personally, technically and to adapt to an ever-changing operations environment. Be able to communicate with staff to ensure a positive drive towards a common goal. They must show flexibility as their duties, hours, and operational procedures may be changed. The attitude of doing what it takes to get the job done is required in this position.


Main duties include opening, closing, & running event concessions, processing sales, processing incoming product from vendors, web fulfillment, stocking event merchandise, and scheduling part time staff. They are responsible for keeping all aspects of the department thoroughly organized, clean, and easy to navigate. They should have a complete understanding of all processes and procedures with the ability to train others and be available to staff should any type of assistance be necessary. They should be flexible and open to change, dependent on the needs of the company. They will perform all duties of subordinates, such as checking out customers, processing inventory, performing restocks, fulfilling web orders, and handling customer service.


Events Operations Manager Job Responsibilities:

- Assist in the day-to-day business of the warehouse and event concessions

- Commit to the vision and community of the company

- Hire, fire & schedule all part time staff

- Oversee all necessary training of part time staff

- Assist in ensuring all onsite concession locations are running efficiently and correctly

- Monitor sales activities to ensure that customers receive exceptional service and quality goods

- Examine merchandise to ensure that it is correctly priced and displayed and that it functions as advertised.

- Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, or in performing services for customers

- Manage the receiving and processing of all product inventory

- Manage the execution of transferring inventory to events

- Manage the execution of web fulfillment procedures

- Address operational concerns and issues, enforce operational procedures and policies

- Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels

- Provide customer service by greeting and assisting customer, and responding to customer inquiries and complaints

- Perform work activities of subordinates, such as cleaning and organizing shelves and displays and selling merchandise.

- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Schedule:

  • 8-12 hour shifts
  • Day, Evenings as needed
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed, mainly concessions

Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
