Role: Commercial Finance Associate Attorney

Our client, an elite AmLaw100 firm, is seeking a Commercial Finance Associate with 5-7 years of experience to join its Corporate Practice Group in Chicago.
Minimum Experience:
5 -7 years of solid and meaningful experience in at least one or more of the following areas:
- Acquisition financing (leverage finance)
- Agented syndicated secured financings (cash flow or asset-based)
- Fund finance
- Healthcare financings
Technical Knowledge:
A good working knowledge of Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).
Preferred Additional Experience (a plus):
- Intercreditor agreements
- Agreements among lenders
Skills and Qualities:
- Legal Skills:
- Strong drafting and negotiating skills
- Experience working on sophisticated transactional matters
- Client Interaction:
- Desire for meaningful client contact and hands-on deal experience
- Personality Traits:
- Outgoing and engaging personality
Academic and Professional Background:
- Strong academic background required
- Prior experience in a law firm setting (preferably at a large law firm or a commercial finance boutique)
Licensing Requirements:
- Illinois Bar admission required or the ability to obtain IL Bar admission soon
Work Environment and Opportunities:

Compensation and Benefits:
- The target annual pay range for this role is $295,000 - $300,000, with actual pay varying based on experience, skill set, business needs, and market conditions. The position offers competitive benefits and the opportunity to work closely with firm leadership. . The compensation range listed is just one component of the firm's total comp package for employees, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonuses and incentive packages and firm-sponsored benefit programs.
