Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Infant Teacher to join our team. This role is responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging environment where our youngest learners (ages 6 weeks – 12 months) can explore, grow, and develop foundational skills in a loving setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, loving care to infants, ensuring their physical, emotional, and developmental needs are met.
- Create a responsive and stimulating environment that encourages sensory exploration, early communication, and secure attachment.
- Implement developmentally appropriate activities that support cognitive, social-emotional, and motor development.
- Establish strong relationships with families, maintaining open communication and providing daily updates on each child’s growth and experiences.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom, following health and safety protocols, including diapering, feeding, and sanitization procedures.
- Observe and document milestones, supporting each child’s progress and sharing insights with families and the teaching team.
- Collaborate with co-teachers and leadership to uphold Gan Yeladim’s values, approach, and high standards of care.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience working with infants in a childcare, preschool, or early learning setting.
- A passion for early childhood education and a deep understanding of infant development.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships with families.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about Jewish traditions and Reggio Emilia-inspired teaching.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred but not required).
