Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Vice President of Development & Community Relations, the Communications and Development Associate will be responsible for duties related to fundraising, marketing, and public relations. This position supports communications and development strategy through competitive research, fundraising, donor outreach, messaging, and audience identification.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborates to manage brand awareness, identify key stakeholders, and coordinate actions around internal and external relations.
- Works with the Vice President of Development & Community Relations on projects as assigned. This includes logistics, research, outreach and communications ensuring brand consistency both internally and externally.
- Produces written copy for printed collateral (i.e. brochures, marketing flyers, fundraising materials) as well as electronic collateral (i.e. website, e-newsletters, etc.).
- Helps determine, manage, and implement social media strategy.
- Coordinates event planning and execution (e.g., community engagement, fundraisers).
- Performs fundraising data entry, data cleanup, and maintenance.
- Produces correspondence and outcomes reports based on fact-based evidence.
- Supports the general administrative and project-based activity of the communications/development department.
- Provide direct support to the implementation of the Annual Development Plan.
- Secure corporate and business sponsorship for fundraising events in addition to researching and identifying potential new revenue sources.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree related to public relations, marketing, non-profit management/development, or other related fields.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience preferred working in public relations, marketing, social media & digital marketing, non-profit. management/development, or another related field.
- Knowledge of photography & videography preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Some nights and weekends are required.
