This is an entry level position where the team member will gainknowledge through on the job training with other members of the team. We seek anapprentice that is energetic, eager to learn and provides the highest level of customer service.Job Duties : Maintains a safe and professional work environment and ensures compliance with OSHAregulationsParticipates in a variety of daily tasks, including : o Reading the project folder and work instructionso Loading the correct materials and sundries for the projecto Loading the correct equipment for the projecto Grinding, shot blasting, sanding and vacuuming the flooro Repairing the substrate (i.e. measuring, mixing and troweling ofrepair materials)o Mixing and installing floor coatings using a drill, squeegee, roller andpaint brushes, or other specialized toolso Cleaning and returning equipment to its proper locationMaintains excellent rapport with the client and teammatesCandidates : Are able to attend a self-guided OSHA10 class and pass the course (or can demonstratethey already passed the course)Are able to wear a respirator and pass a FIT testCommit to a substance-free work environmentPossess experience in basic construction techniques (i.e. painting, carpentry)Can demonstrate they paint comfortably using brushes and rollersCan add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers and fractions to determine proper mixratios, sometimes on the fly as the project progressesJob Title : AApprenticeAre able to work with chemicals, read and understand their data sheets, and followapplication instructionsMaintain a valid Vermont Drivers License with a clean driving recordHave reliable transportation to and from our workshopCan memorize processes and procedures, and follow themCommunicate well with others verballyPhysical and Mental Demands : Prolonged periods of standing, bending and kneelingAbility to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environmental conditionsAbility to operate electrical equipment, including hand and stand up grinders,generators, drills, polishers and sandersAbility to lift 50 lb. material bagsDaily travel from our workshop to project sites within Vermont and Northern New YorkOvernight travel is sometimes required with adequate noticeWork Environment : Work is performed on residential and commercial project sites.
