Job Description
Position: ACCOUNTANT
Department: Administration
Summary / Objective:
The primary function of our corporate accountant is to create and maintain financial records and financial statements for all facets of the business. Works with Controller to ensure all accounting standards are met.

  • Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing financial information.
  • Responsible for maintaining and reconciling General Ledger.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Reviews bank statements.
  • Research and reconcile all discrepancies.
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Secures financial information by completing data base backups.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Coordinates with all departments to ensure accurate information is submitted to accounting in a timely manner for accurate preparation of monthly owner statements.
  • Assist with various audit requirements on a quarterly, bi-annual, and annual basis in areas of accounting, and other expense relating to the company.
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions and verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Provide accurate and effective document preparation and records management relative to the accounting function in accordance to record and retention policies and laws.
  • Prepare checks, including ACH transactions and wire payments with supplemental backup documentation.
  • Serves as backup for processing payroll for 1099 Real Estate Agents and W2 employees.
  • Maintains office supplies, postage, and printer supplies for company. Monitors and reports on usage, making recommendations on controlling inventory and unnecessary expenses.
  • Maintains employee and corporate confidence and protects operations by keeping personnel and financial information confidential.
Qualifications:
  • BS in Accounting or a related field
  • CPA certification a plus
  • 2 – 5 years’ experience in accounting
  • Strong computer skills including excel and google sheets
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task
  • A positive team-oriented attitude is necessary
  • Possess a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills.
