Job Description
The responsibilities of the Cultivation Tech and Assistant Grower I, II for Garden Remedies, Inc. (GRI) broadly embrace the key areas described below. The Cultivation Tech and Assistant Grower I, II will assist Cultivation staff with daily tasks, facilitating the growth of quality flower. This position supports other duties in Cultivation as assigned to help maintain a consistent, high-quality medical cannabis line fully consistent with GRI’s Standard Operating Procedures. Please see below for the appropriate levels within the Cultivation progression plan. Managers will assess employee progress through informal observation and GRI’s formal review process.
Responsibilities:
Cultivation Tech:
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workplace.
- Participate in all phases of plant growth, including sanitation, transplant, harvest, and other duties to maintain an efficient workflow through-out the facility.
- May perform routine, minor maintenance of small equipment.
- Utilizes cultivation equipment and PPE according to SOPs and follows all safety guidelines.
- Maintain a respectful and business-like work environment.
- Demonstrate a strong worth ethic and positive attitude.
- Maintain a serious, positive, and team-oriented approach to security. Report any security concerns or breaches immediately to designated person(s).
- Maintain regulatory compliance with all state and local regulations.
- Complete cross training for all aspects of transplant and harvest.
- Willingness to assist other departments within cultivation and beyond.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
To be considered an Assistant Grower I, all from above must apply but see additional duties below:
- Complete cross training for all aspects of veg and flower.
- Demonstrate initiative and understanding of general weekly workflow.
- General understanding of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) protocols.
- Provide guidance and support to cultivation techs.
To be considered an Assistant Grower II, all from above must apply but see additional duties below:
- Ability to complete all daily procedures autonomously with minimum supervision.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot machinery.
- Assist management staff in continuous improvement projects to ensure all cultivation processes are running efficiently, as needed.
- Seek out leadership and support opportunities for developing cultivators.
- Maintain professionalism in the workplace.
- Ability to be a dependent contributor to cultivation department.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Knowledge of current technologies and methodologies and demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with applicable protocols.
- Strong inter-personal skills with the proven ability to communicate clearly.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Good personal hygiene, physical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labor tasks required; ability to lift up to forty pounds.
- Ability to think on your feet and use problem solving skills when the situation arises.
- Strong history of meeting performance goals and being accountable.
- Must be able to work weekends when assigned per rotating schedule.
- The candidate must pass the state required background check.
- Must have reliable transportation.
