- Supervision and Staff Management:
- Oversee and manage a team of caregivers, nursing assistants, and support staff in delivering exceptional care
- Schedule, train, and mentor staff, ensuring they adhere to facility policies and provide respectful, quality care
- Conduct regular staff performance evaluations, providing feedback and coaching for continuous improvement
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment that encourages team collaboration and employee engagement
- Resident Care and Well-being:
- Ensure that residents’ care plans are followed and that all personal care needs are met, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), medication administration, and mobility support
- Monitor the health and well-being of residents and report any changes in condition to medical staff or family members as necessary
- Promote resident independence and dignity while providing the appropriate level of assistance
- Address resident concerns, ensuring their needs are met in a timely and compassionate manner
- Compliance and Regulatory Standards:
- Ensure the facility is in compliance with all Arizona state regulations, including health, safety, and staffing requirements
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency
- Maintain up-to-date resident records, including care plans, health updates, and documentation of services provided
- Prepare for and assist with facility inspections by state agencies and regulatory bodies
- Family and Community Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for families, ensuring open communication regarding their loved ones’ care and well-being
- Address concerns or complaints from families and residents, working to resolve issues and enhance satisfaction
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with community resources, healthcare providers, and other external partners
- Medication Oversight:
- Assist with the management and administration of medications, ensuring compliance with physician orders and regulations
- Monitor and document residents’ responses to medications, and communicate any concerns to medical staff
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records, including assessments, care plans, progress notes, and incident reports
- Ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with facility policies, state regulations, and best practices
- Shift Work and Coverage:
- Manage staffing schedules to ensure 24/7 coverage, including weekends and holidays, and provide assistance during shifts as needed
- Assist with crisis management, including resident emergencies, and take immediate action when necessary
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, or a related field (preferred)
- Certification and Licensure:
- Certified Caregiver in Arizona (required)
- CPR and First Aid certification (required)
- LPN or RN licensure (preferred, but not required)
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an assisted living, long-term care, or healthcare setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role
- Experience in resident care planning and management is highly preferred
- Knowledge of Arizona’s assisted living regulations and compliance requirements is essential
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Empathy and a strong commitment to providing high-quality care to seniors
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- This role requires work in a residential care setting with frequent interaction with residents and staff
