Job Summary
The Kennel Assistant provides daily care, feeding, and exercise of boarding and hospitalized animals. This role requires close attention to the overall health and well-being of our patients, as well as interacting with clients in person and by phone.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for animals
- Provide compassionate care to boarding pets and hospitalized patients
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed
- Monitor animal behavior and report any unusual activity to veterinarians and technicians
- Record and maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment
Requirements
- Confidence working with animals and a willingness to learn
- Knowledge of proper animal restraint techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more, as needed
