Warehouse Associate
Gardner has been serving clients across the country for over 75 years as one of the largest family-owned and operated Outdoor Power Equipment and Commercial Parts Distributors in the nation. Gardner facilities are strategically located in Ohio, Florida, Massachusetts, Mississippi, North Carolina and Oregon. Totaling over 900,000 square feet, the warehouses contain over 165,000 active SKUs and are capable of processing over 6,000 orders per shift. Purpose:
The purpose of a Warehouse Associate is to manage the flow of product and information efficiently, accurately and timely to increase sales and drive profitability. This position is responsible to provide accurate and timely orders for customers by acting purposefully, thoughtfully and with a sense of ownership.
Essential Duties
1. Order Processing –Completes full cycle order processing and correctly performs “pick, pack and put away” tasks for all items.

3. Customer Service – Provides world class service to customers, vendors and employees to ensure that Gardner is the preferred company for our customers.
Job Responsibilities and other duties as assigned
- Picks orders accurately within standard timeframe.
- Packs orders accurately within time standards.
- Puts away products accurately and timely.
- Maintains 5s model by standardizing, sorting, straightening, and sustaining throughout the warehouse.
- Process shipments.
- Assemble whole good orders.
- Forklift/Pallet Jack operation.
- Responds to customer requests, including part look-up and will-call pick up.
- Works with good intention and a focus on relentless improvement.
- Follows processes in a detail oriented, accurate and consistent manner.
- Works to become the expert and cross-trains with team members in the various work activities of the warehouse
- Demonstrates understanding by carrying out written or oral instructions correctly.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation, does other warehouse duties as required
- Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers, coworkers, managers including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
- Respectfully takes direction from the manager.

Minimum Requirements: Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Has advanced basic computer job skills including logging on to systems, ability to communicate by email, ability to compose documents, enter database information, create presentations, download forms, and preserve/backup important data.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
