Accounts Payable Associate
Reports To:
The Accounts Payable Associate will report to the Accounting Supervisor.
Job Overview:
The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for all aspects of accounts payable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
The Accounts Payable Associate is a motivated and driven individual with a proven track record of bookkeeping and accounts payable responsibilities. The individual is positive, energetic, self-motivated, able to manage timelines, and work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The role demands a team player with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Review all invoices for accurate account coding, documentation, and approval and enter in ERP system
- Match invoices to purchase order and receiver
- Process bi-weekly check run and prepare ACH and wire requests
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Identify and research price variances and purchasing irregularities
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practice
- Track vendor returns and investigate related issues
- Reconcile bank statement
- Review and process expense reports in compliance with company policy
- Compile period-end accruals for review and related month-end close duties
- Respond to all vendor inquiries
- Maintain and update vendor information including W-9 and COI documents
- Process vendor credit applications
- Other duties as assigned to support accounting department
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred
- Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures
- Basic accounting principles knowledge
- Advanced research and resolution skills
- Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills
- Prior experience with Made2Manage (or similar ERP)
- Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast changing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Access
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required
- Attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
- Creative, self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency
Work Status: Full Time
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 - 5:00 and overtime as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
