Shipping Floor Supervisor
Gared Performance Sports Systems is searching for an experienced Shipping Floor Supervisor that has true hands-on experience and is ready to move up into the next level in his/her career. Work with Shipping Coordinator, Material Handlers and Pickers to quickly and accurately get products shipped. RESPONSIBILITES:
- The ability to supervise and coordinate work assignments for team members within the shipping office and across various docks.
- Ensure accurate order fulfillment by verifying product details against shippers, sales orders and prints.
- Work closely with Pickers and various departments such as fabrication, powder coat, packing and assembly to ensure on-time shipments.
- Lead the team through new ways to improve efficiency while improving employee safety
- Oversee the loading of trucks, ensuring safe handling, loading and unloading.
- Be adherent to all safety standards: maintain clean and organized docks and verify team members complete monthly safety training.
- Resolve issues related to shipping.
- Assist the Shipping Manager with truck scheduling.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve productivity.
- The ability to perform hands-on participation when workload requires.
- Responsible for preparing annual reviews of supervised team members with recommendations for improvement or disciplinary action while providing recommendations to management based on reviews.
- Work with Plant Manager on improving safety, quality, OTD, product flow and Lean daily management processes throughout the Shipping area including standardized procedures.
- Monitor and control OT usage
- Training and cross training of all dock team members
- Ensure all shipping documents are complete and accurate and turned into shipping office prior to releasing the driver
- Others duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- High School Diploma: (Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred not required if years of experience is met)
- 3 years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge and understanding of shipping processes within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP system software, such as Made to Manage
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook required, PowerPoint preferred)
- Ability to lead people through change
