Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Manager to oversee all resort housekeeping operations in order to provide the best service to our guests. You will manage and supervise the department budgetary matters and conduct all business with vendors, suppliers and Garland staff in an efficient manner. The ideal candidate will organize, schedule, train, and supervise staff members. You will also provide and monitor staff training, performance and guest service to ensure that the resort and room cleanliness exceeds guest expectations.
Duties and Requirements of the Job:
- Keep property clean.
- Prepare annual budget and administer that budget in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Devise and control purchasing policies and procedures
- Communicate and coordinate with other departments to promote the resort.
- Take proactive role in company future.
- Model and comply with company policies regarding scheduling, appearance, hygiene, training, absenteeism and tardiness.
- Supervise all delegated duties.
- Provide, direct and monitor continuous education and training of employees and support staff.
- Implement and follow procedures for progressive disciplinary action.
- Coach and counsel employees in all areas of the housekeeping department.
- Participate in inventory practices.
- Maintain all OSHA logs pertaining to the housekeeping department, including all MSDS(Material Safety Data Sheets) logs
- Organize all PO’s in accordance to all orders placed by the housekeeping department.
- Maintains all logs pertinent to housekeeping.
- Supervise operations to maintain highest standards of service stall appearances,
- Control costs: labor, linen, room amenities,
- Other duties as assigned: General Manager
Personal Skills and Characteristics Required to Perform the Duties of the Job:
- Three years Housekeeping experience or education
- Previous experience supervising or managing employees
- Excellent public relations skills with emphasis on oral communication
Physical Requirements to Perform the Duties of the Job:
- Must be able to reach, bend, and frequently lift up to 50lbs
- Must be able to stand or walk for a minimum of 6 hours daily
Licensing, Education and/or other Special Certification(s) Required:
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Valid Driver’s License
