Garlick Law is a McKinleyville-based law office specializing in estate planning and commercial transactions. We pride ourselves on providing excellent service in a comfortable, friendly, and approachable environment. APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT HUMBOLDT COUNTY RESIDENT.
We are seeking a legal operations assistant to optimize office functions for efficiency, from coordinating meetings, drafting documents, and preparing accountings, to maintaining complete and accurate files. The ideal candidate is smart, empathetic, organized, detail-oriented, and not afraid of tackling unfamiliar tasks.
This Legal Operations Assistant will work on estate plans and administer trusts, as well as commercial transactions and business operations.
We believe in embracing and leveraging technology and seek someone who is not afraid of technology.
While prior work experience is not necessary, we are looking for the right candidate with the ability and desire to learn and work hard.
Objectives of this role:
- Ensure the office is running smoothly at all times
- Take on a diversity of tasks – no task is too small or too big
- Represent the organization with warmth, professionalism, and integrity
- Professionalism and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of organizational and client information
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with clients and draft and proofread legal and other documents
Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining calendars, scheduling appointments, and compiling
- complex documentation
- Screen, direct, and prioritize incoming communications
- Self-starter who can effectively manage multiple projects
- Learn and integrate technology into the office
