Overview
We are seeking a full-time Printed Circuit Board Designer 2 for our site in Cary, NC. (This is a hybrid role in tjhe office 3 days / home 2 days). In this role, you will be responsible for creating broadly defined complex Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs from schematics and input from Product Design and Mechanical Engineers using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Set up data for complex high speed designs
- Ensure manufacturability is maintained in each design
- Independently determine general approach and provide reliable solutions to technical problems and help determine feasibility of project goals and objectives
- Collaborate and add value to engineering design reviews
- Contribute to testing out tools introduced to the team and process improvements
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology or related field AND 5 years relevant experience performing similar consumer electronics industry duties OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrate proficient use and thorough knowledge of PCB design best practices and design standards
- Demonstrate expert proficiency using ECAD tools and a thorough knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes
- Demonstrate an ability to interpret basic design intent from schematics
- Proficiency using personal computers and Microsoft Office applications
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Cadence
- Working knowledge of all types of electronic components
- Working knowledge of electronic circuits theory of operation
