Summary:
Under the direction of the Orchard Operations Manager, the Orchard Operations Analyst uses various analytical techniques to understand and improve Orchard Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Identifies Workflow/System improvements, advises management on the appropriate courses of action and works with management and the operations team to enact change.
- Develops project estimates by identifying the phases and elements of the project, personnel requirements, and costs.
- Provides support and help, writes documentation, conducts training to teach employees to use new or revised systems and meets with them after implementation of a new process to determine its effectiveness.
- Establishes and enforces organization standards, maintaining system integrity and security.
- Attends educational workshops, reviews professional publications, establishes personal networks, benchmarks state of the are practices and participates in professional societies to maintain professional and technical knowledge.
- Collects and secure information by performing internal audits of operations, reading reports, analyzing operations, determining project scope reviewing databases to determine which data is relevant and what methods should be used to analyze them; and describes and records the results and recommendations in reports.
- Produces practical solutions by describing requirements, studying system or process capabilities, analyzing alternative solutions, and preparing system specifications, using statistical analysis, simulation and optimization
Additional Qualifications: include, but not limited to, the following.
- Proven experience with computers and proficient in computer hardware, software, cabling installation and support, wireless technology applications.
- Highly Proficient in Microsoft Windows software, including Office, and Exchange.
- Management and leadership skills.
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible working hours.
- Training and knowledge of all irrigation systems repair and maintenance.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes
Language Skills: Ability to understand verbal instructions and written documents such as safety rules, labels, MSDS, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Must be able to understand, read and write English to document results on forms and logs. Conversation Spanish desired but not required.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Knowledge of statistics desired but not required.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: California Drivers License, Sediment and Erosion Control Plan Self Certification, Irrigation and Nitrogen Management Plan Self Certification.
Other Qualifications: Must be able to work varying shifts.
Education and/or Experience: bachelor's degree in agriculture or related field, and/or equivalent experience in orchard operations.
