Garrett Construction Company is a local family owned construction company located in Ingleside, Texas with jobs throughout the Coastal Bend. Garrett Construction Company is seeking experienced Concrete Form Setters and Finishers. Candidates will be responsible for forming, placing, finishing concrete and following directions from supervisors and other skilled tradesmen. Candidates must have a high level of attention to detail and be able to work with competency in all weather conditions. The ideal candidate will have concrete finishing/formsetting experience and good time management skills. Must have own reliable transportation, able to pass drug screen and background check, available to work M-F 7-4:30 with occasional weekends. Please apply in person or by email.
General Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Set forms; pour, smooth and finish concrete sidewalks, roads, curbs, etc. using hand/powered floats, hand/powered trowels and other equipment.
- Bolt, nail, align and block under forms.
- Work harmoniously and cooperatively with others at all times.
- Follow directions and instructions from supervisors.
- Perform a variety of tasks and duties that may change often as the work conditions require.
- Work within defined standards of accuracy.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to use arms and hand to reach for, handle and manipulate objects.
- Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
- Good communication skills to work effectively and safely.
- Ability to work overtime, as required.
- Experience of 2 years minimum
- Willingness to learn multiple task of the concrete operation.
- Ability to abide by strict but necessary safety rules and policies.
Responsibilities:
- Smooth surfaces.
- Work in hot, cold and dirty environments.
- Sand surfaces.
- Apply protective coatings to surfaces.
- Be exposed to dust, fumes and noise.
- Check surfaces to ensure they meet specifications.
- Check surfaces for defects and sand or smooth again if necessary.
