Equipment Manager

The Equipment Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our fleet, managing maintenance requests, negotiating with rental vendors, and ensuring optimal fleet utilization. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong organizational skills and the ability to work closely with various departments to ensure the seamless operation of our fleet services.

Key Responsibilities:

- Management of Rental Fleet: Oversee the acquisition, utilization, and return of rental equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

- Oversee invoice verification and reconciliation for rental equipment.

- Update Navman and Rental sheet to show all rentals in the system. Requests need to be made at times to get them to report. Also, they must remove them once they are returned.

- Vendor Negotiations: Negotiate contracts and agreements with rental vendors to secure the best terms and conditions for equipment rentals.

- Equipment Recommendations: Evaluate and recommend options for buying, renting, or converting equipment based on operational needs and cost-effectiveness.

- Fleet Invoices Management: Process and manage invoices related to equipment, hotshot, and transportation services.

- Utilization Report and Management: Prepare and analyze utilization reports to monitor fleet performance and make informed decisions about fleet management.

- Global Fleet Sizing: Assess and determines the appropriate fleet size required to meet global job demands.

- Equipment Forecasting: Forecast equipment needs based on job load and project requirements.

- Geo Fence Building: Develop and implement geo-fencing for job sites to monitor equipment location and usage.

- System Integration: Manage relationships and integrations with systems such as Navman, Vista, Si Tech, Vision Link, and other relevant platforms.

- Maintain the Database for new and sold equipment. Ensure that all equipment is added and updated as required.

- Process fuel usage imports into equipment costs in Vista to ensure that fuel is billed to the correct equipment and costs are updated.

- Enter job billing for equipment usage. Ensure that proper coding is used to get all equipment usage to the correct place.

- Billing for Hot Shot and Heavy Haul to the jobs.

- Manage assignments and tracking of all assets to include vehicles, GPS, and other small equipment within the database.

- Provide oversight into inventory management with the local branches to ensure parts and supplies are billed properly and accounted for

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in fleet management, preferably in a similar industry.

- Strong negotiation skills with experience in vendor management.

- Proficiency in fleet management software and systems (e.g., Navman, Vista, Si Tech, Vision Link).

- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

- Strong analytical skills to prepare and interpret utilization reports.

- Ability to forecast equipment needs and manage a global fleet.

- Knowledge of transportation permits and regulations.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fleet management or a related role.

Requirements:

- Safety Sensitive Position

- Must be 18 years of age or older.

- Must have reliable transportation.

- Must have the ability to work extended hours as required by the workload.

- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in all types of terrain

- Able to meet all physical requirements such as standing, walking, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting 50 pounds or more.

- Ability to work around loud noises and can tolerate being exposed to odors, gasses, dust, etc.

- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, and in excavated areas.
